How the Summer Flies By

It’s been a busy week. First, my company celebrated its fifth birthday (a major landmark for any small biz), which meant I was sending gifts to clients (I always send gifts and cards on OUR birthday!!) and making an icebox cake to celebrate.

Then The Hub graduated from The Founder Institute, which is like an intense 4-month MBA for startup founders. It’s been stressful since it required so much of his time, so needless to say it was a relief that it was finally over. We celebrated at his graduation and I made some new entrepreneur-y friends.

Spa pedicure date with an old friend. Took nephew to airport. Rest.

Then I head to Austin to visit Dell headquarters again, visit my friend in Wisconsin and my mom visits. Then potentially a trip to NYC. It never ends!

It’s not even officially summer for us, since Max doesn’t get out til July 26, but it seems like everything happens in the summer. Why is that?

Oh and just to make you Southerners jealous: we just now turned on our A/C for the day when it hit 99. We do it like 5 times all year. Heaven!

Just an Update

I don’t have anything profound to share.

I’d spilled water on my camera at the yoga retreat. Finally got it fixed. Relief. I attended a really great Nikon photo workshop that has me even more excited to take photos.

Our nephew is adjusting to life with us. I think it’s pretty different from what he’s used to. We went to Belmont Park yesterday and the kids had a blast. Me? I wasn’t all about the rope climby thing high off the ground. But I did it!

Max still has over a month of school left. It’s so weird this time of year, with other kids out of school and still playing in the still-light when he goes to bed. I get summer fever for him!

Got some travel coming up. Will write after.

Good T’ings from Dell

It’s no secret I love Dell. So I was thrilled when they agreed to let me test their products and share them with my readers! You can read my review of the M101z netbook here.

I did want to do a personal post about the M101z, as we use it more for personal than business. I’m actually using the Windows Live Writer I refer to in the review. With just one click, I’m already in Sometimes Parenting Sucks and writing a post. No logging in, no clicking “New Post.” It’s definitely a new tool I’m adding to my repertoire.

The laptops come in 7 different “flavors.” I don’t know.it just makes me happier when I’m on a colorful laptop!

Max used the M101z when we were in Europe to play games. It’s perfectly sized for him, and I’d consider getting him one.

If you’re looking for a cute netbook, check out the M101z.
