Check Me Out: Future Black Belt
I’ve never been interested in karate. I mean, I like watching martial arts movies, but nothing more.

Then there was a family karate class at our local Y that Max wanted to take with us. I was game. After just one class, I’m hooked. I’m envisioning getting all my belts, and one day becoming the great karate master. Or sensei. Or whatever.
I liked that I could use my yoga skills in karate, like pulling in my tailbone to protect my spine. My flexibility. Endurance. But I also liked that it was completely the opposite of slow, flowing movements. It’s a nice balance.
The Hub, athlete that he is, naturally did well too. And Max had a great time! I could tell because he never, ever raises his hand to answer a question in situations like this, and when the sensei asked for people to demonstrate, he raised his hand!!!
