RSS FeedLet me just get this out. Sometimes being a mom is not my top priority. Ok, often. When you meet me, the first thing out of my mouth is “I run a marketing firm,” not “I have a four year old.” I’m not all about discussing parenting. Want to talk about marketing and social media? I’m your girl.
So starting and then owning up to this mommyblog has been good for me. First of all, now that I know I have about 11 people reading this, I seem to have more to say. Something will happen in my day, and I’ll think I’ll blog about that.
It’s helping me realize that however I parent, whether it’s like other people or not, is ok. Because it’s my way. And it may involve a glass of wine or rolling my eyes at my kid. Pretending I didn’t hear him yell for me in the shower. Poking him just for kicks.
It’s made me realize I don’t care what people think. Look at Miss Britt. That girl kicks ass and completely shows her vulnerability. I could stand to learn some things from her.
I always kept a journal. When I was younger, I wrote in it religiously. Now I have a blog. Same purpose, different tool. Stay tuned to more vulnerability and honesty!

Count me as #12… I’ve been following you on RSS feed, so rarely comment. But I can totally relate to the “my way” thing… I think, especially as Mommies, we are conditioned to be insecure about everything from day one. And then we realize that NO ONE really knows what’s best, and everyone has to figure it out for herself.
